Noosa - Sunshine Coast
Noosa is at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and is considered the gateway to the North Shore and National Parks and waterways of Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island.
Noosa is the most northerly resort area of the Sunshine Coast and also the most well-known holiday accommodation destination. The area extends from Peregian Beach to Noosaville on the banks of the Noosa river; and includes the localities of Marcus Beach, Sunrise Beach, Sunshine Beach, and Noosa Heads.
How to get there?
Noosa is within a comfortable two-hour drive from Brisbane. It lies on the strip of coast known as the Sunshine Coast and is close to the coast's northern tip.
Train from Brisbane to Nambour, with road services that connect to Noosa.
Noosa is one of the few places in Australia that is famous for preserving the natural environment and combining it with the most modern holiday accommodation and amenities.
While most of the holiday accommodation is situated along the coastal strip, there are many other interesting locations in village communities within 15 to 20 minutes drive from the main resort area and beaches. You may also hire a houseboat holiday on the Noosa River.

You may also take a daytrip to Fraser Island (world's largest sand island with its ancient vegetation and wildlife) or drive inland to Nambour or to the Glass Mountains.
Beach Surf and Water Sports:
Water activities around the beach include very good surfing, both body and surf board, including the Malibu longboard that is quite popular.
It is possible to hire all types of watercraft, from hobby craft catamarans, put-put boats, jet-skis, and sailboards right up to live-aboard house boats.
From August until October each year, many pods of whales rest in Hervey Bay before proceeding south to the Antarctic Ocean; daily whale watch tours leave from Noosa beach for a wonderful experience.
Main Beach Board Walk:
A popular walk is the 3 km coastal path from Hastings Street along Main Beach Boardwalk past the beautiful Tea Tree Bay, Dolphin Point, Fairy pools, Noosa Head into Alexandria Bay gives you a stunning view out to the sea.
There is always something in Noosa for you natural wonders, golf, tennis, surfing, fishing, parasailing, boating, water-skiing, camel or horse riding - it goes on or just do nothing at all but drench yourself in the warm Australian sun!!
